Guided cycle trip in Kattfjord, Kvaløya (TNF 004)

The tour starts from Lauklines Kystferie, in Kattfjorden, on the outer coast of the island of Kvaløya outside Tromsø. From here, we cycle along a quiet, one-way country road to the small traditional village of Vasstrand. Out here, there is a view towards Sommarøy to the south and the open sea to the west. On the return journey, we stop at the historic Tulleng wharf and have a guided tour of the traditional warehouse. Features here include old fishermen’s cottages, a factory for salting cod and a shop.

On arrival at Tulleng, you will be served coffee and traditional Kattfjord lefse. In the shop, you may purchase sugar candy, drops and souvenirs. The tour concludes with a gentle ride back to Lauklines, where you return your cycle and helmet.

The entire tour is on flat, sealed roads. Participants require only normal cycling skills. As the weather can change quickly in Northern Norway, we recommend you bring waterproof jacket/trousers on all our cycling tours.
