Guided cycle trip Tromsø (TNF 003)
This wonderful cycle tour takes you from downtown Tromsø, across the Sandnessund Bridge and across to the island of Kvaløya. We cycle northwards to Kvaløysletta and take a stop for a guided tour at fascinating Arctandria, which features a brilliant collection of boats, buildings/boathouses built in traditional North Norwegian style.
We continue our cycling tour past Eidskjosen and out to the island of Håkøya, which is a peaceful place outside Tromsø with a rich birdlife. We stop at the memorial of the sinking of the German battleship Tirpiz, and hear the story of the ship’s fate, which ended during World War II just off the coast of Håkøya. After a refreshments break, we return to downtown Tromsø and the Hurtigruten quay on the same route.
Most of this tour is on sealed roads. Participants require only normal cycling skills. As the weather can change quickly in Northern Norway, we recommend you bring waterproof jacket/trousers on all our cycling tours.
